When we decided to have the exterior of our home renovated, we consulted a very astute businesswoman who had recently had extensive work done on her property. Her recommendation was Mr Brian Glass of Bricote Painting.
He inspected our property, ascertained what we envisaged and returned with a comprehensive and detailed quotation which was honoured in full. He made intelligent suggestions for the refurbishment of our property and carried out the work in an exemplary fashion.
He organised the scaffolding and roofing contractors. His project management skills were excellent and throughout the process he inspected the work of the subcontractor. He informed us daily of his work expectations and was totally reliable with his timing and quality of work.
He replaced sun damaged cedar on the front of our property, water-blasted and sanded the remainder before oiling the timber. This treatment has restored the cedar to its original beauty. He liaised with, ordered and installed our balcony railings with extra safety features. He is a skilled woodworker and suggested that he should construct a gate to ensure a dangerous exposed area was secure.

Brian has done extensive painting and building work for me in Bayswater and has done an excellent job of all the work he did (including replacing two decks with wide board Kwila).
I referred Brian to friends of mine in St Heliers where he did a major job of re-staining their entire house on a very steep site. Tony & Val have been really pleased with the work that he did for them.
I also sent a selection of the old and new photos of the deck to my brothers and sister-in-law and they all agreed it looks FAB:

Brian painted the inside of our villa in 2020, and did a wonderful job despite the tight timescale and peculiarities of an old house. When our builders could not source an exact match to our 135 year old ceiling batons and cornicing, Brian fabricated identical wooden ones in his workshop and installed them seamlessly. He went above and beyond what we initially asked of him as a painter/decorator and the client-driven additional costs were very fair.

After having a colour consultation with Resene, we asked for a referral for a painter. Brian Glass was on of two who contacted us. After his visit and following discussions we accepted his quote for a full internal paint.
The job has now been completed and we are extremely pleased with the result. Brian was thorough, helpful, and paid attention to detail. He was well organised and arranged for all sub-contractors where needed. This job took several weeks and every day he left the house in a useable state causing minimal disruption.
